About Psychotherapy and counselling
Working together in a confidential and non-judgemental space, we can explore the challenges you are facing so that you can live with a greater sense of well being and self-confidence.
I believe that psychotherapy and counselling can increase our awareness of our patterns of behaviour and our less effective ways of dealing with life and relationships. Once these patterns are identified, we may find new ways of responding and relating to ourselves and others.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from several key theories, including Psychoanalytic, Humanistic, and Existential perspectives. Central to my practice is the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for healing. I work relationally, recognising that many of our emotional wounds stem from relationships with others—and that healing is most effectively achieved within the context of a supportive, authentic, therapeutic relationship.
Through a process of understanding, learning, healing and growth, therapy can help us discover who we are and how we would like to be in the world.
"Loneliness does not come from having no people around, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissable"
- Carl Jung
